Crystalline Silica Exposure Control Methods

According to OSHA’s Final Rule to Protect Workers from Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica, employers shall fully and properly implement the engineering and work practice control methods detailed in the table below based on the equipment used for the construction job. This data in this table, as well as more information on OSHA regulations, can be found in OSHA’s Small Entity Compliance Guide for the Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard for Construction (PDF). These recommendations apply to all occupational exposured to silica dust in construction work above 25 micrograms per cubic meter of air in an 8-hour work shift.

For more information about the silica dust regulations implemented by OSHA, please give us a call at 866-983-6427.
